Student Council of RMS is very important to our school because
they sponsor student activities and raise money for student
activities (such as Math competitions, field trips, awards,
assemblies, prizes, incentives for grades, citizenship, and

administrators, and other students. They have a food service
sub-committee. and for suggestions for lunch.
Some of the activities that the Student Council are putting on
are Dances, awards assemblies, motivational speakers, leadership,
forums, talent shows. Which all of these events will raise money
and donates to charitable causes such as the base shelter, MDA,
fish and local people experiencing difficulties due to fires,

Eighth Grade Field Trips and Classroom Activities
Ms. Reitz:
Ms. Reitzs 8th grade classes visited the Iosco County
Medical Care Facility. The purpose of this visit was to have
students learn about U.S. history from someone who may have
experienced it. Another reason for this field trip was to have
students interact with older adults. Students also got to see
what a nursing home was like.
Mr. Reitzs class also had a number of projects throughout
the year. They had an Oscoda History project and a Green Games
project. The purpose of the Oscoda History project was to find
out about the local community. The Green Games project was to see
how the Olympics met environmental Standards. Her class has also
had to write a number of poems, essays, and stories.
What are Jam Sessions? Jam Sessions are assemblies put on by the school improvement team to keep our school a safe and positive environment for the students of RMS. The host of the Jam Sessions is our principal, Mr. Scott. Mr. Scott tries to have Jam Sessions every other Monday. Some of the topics he has talked to us about include: an introduction of him, success, being positive in the morning, appreciation, a movie about Oscoda Elementary, whistle blowing, and one just for the eighth graders about going to the High School next year. Below are pictures from a previous Jam Session.
