            Sign Language

We are learning a new way to communicate with each other.  We don’t use our mouths we use our hands.  It’s called ASL, American Sign Language.  Mrs. Taylor, our Language Arts teacher is teaching the whole school to sign!  She learned it from her daughter who is an interpreter for deaf children.  We have learned the alphabet, colors, and lots of other signs.  We like learning signs for the songs we sing like Thanks A Lot.  Hannah’s favorite letter to sign is H, Brianna likes B, and Molly likes F.  What is your favorite sign?

             Under The Sea       
Everyone in the whole school is going Under the Sea!           Students go to different classrooms with different teachers two days a week for half an hour.  The children work with other students who are working on the same reading skill.  When they have learned that skill they move to a different teacher and skill.  Mrs. Manick, one of the teachers, says she wants everyone to be a successful reader.  We like going to Under the Sea time.  It’s fun!
