Oscoda Community Education responds to the changing needs of our community by offering education and recreational opportunities to people of all ages.  We believe in the philosophy of life-long learning.

Summer Fun Track Program

For boys and girls ages 5-14. Practice June 18, 19, 22, 23, 24, 2015 at 6:00 p.m. at the OHS Track

Track meet on Thursday, June 25, 2015 at 4:00 p.m. at the Tawas track. Athletes will compete against Standish-Sterling and Tawas. Coach: Mr. Henderson. Registration fee: $15 includes T-shirt.

Enrichment and Leisure Time Classes

Yoga - Wednesdays at 5:30 p.m. Cedar Lake Elementary Room 10. $25 per month or $8 for walk-in. Instructor - Elizabeth McNichols, Harrisville Yoa, LLC.

Country Line Dance  - A great way to exercise, have fun, and meet new people - RES - Tuesdays, 6:30-8:00 p.m. - $2

Tae Kwon Do - Taught by Richard Roche, a 3rd degree black belt instructor certified by the International Tae Kwon Do Association - Mon. &  Fri. - 6:00-7:30 p.m. - RES MPR - $3

Karate - Taught by William Ratzlaff - Tues. &  Thurs. at Cedar Lake Elementary beginning November 18, 2014. Children 5-11 years of age meet from 5-6 p.m. Adults and children 12 & up meet from 6-8 p.m. Fee: $25.00 per month.

Golden Age Passes
Golden Age passes are available to district residents age 60 and up.  This pass entitles bearer free admission into all Oscoda Area Schools Atheletic events.

Walk-in    Stop by the Oscoda Community Education office located in the Board of Education office in

Oscoda High School during regular hours:  7:30 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.


School Closing

            In the event that school is closed because of inclement weather or mechanical failure, not Community Education classes will be held. Classes will be rescheduled.


Class Cancellation

            Most classes have a minimum number of participants to avoid cancellation. If a class must be cancelled because of low enrollment, we will make every effort to contact you.

 Refund Policy

1.       A full refund will be issued for any class cancelled by Community Education.

 2.  If you cannot attend a class as planned, you may request a refund. Requests for refunds for a one-time class must  be made 24 hours prior to the start of the class. Requests for refund for a series of classes must be made before the second class meets.

 Returned Check

 A $25 fee will be assessed for any check returned for insufficient funds, or for any check written on a closed account.
