The staff and students of Richardson Elementary say "Welcome!"
Richardson Elementary is home to Oscoda's 3rd through 5th grade students.
Mission Statement
Our Mission is for all students to master the educational and social skills appropriate to their developmental levels.

The fifth grade students at Richardson Elementary all participated in the International Tulip project this year. The project involved students investigating the relationship between geography, temperature, and the arrival of spring. Students and teachers planted 500 bulbs around the building. Students from around North America planted the same variety, Emperor Red Tulips, according to specific guidelines. As the bulbs bloomed this spring, the students were able to share their findings with other classrooms around the country and chart the northward progression of spring.
Richardson Elementary is also care taker of our district Greenhouse. The Greenhouse was originally designed and constructed through a Science class at Oscoda Area High School a number of years ago. This year two Co-Advisors, Mr. Kennedy and Mr. Whitford have spruced the greenhouse up and it is now live with plants. Mr. Kennedy's fifth grade class has been actively involved with this project all year.

The greenhouse project works very closely with our Science curriculum. Besides growing plants the students have charted the air temperature in the greenhouse and altered it with barrels of water. They have learned about how important it is to keep the greenhouse pest free. We look for more great projects with the greenhouse next year.

Mr. Kennedy's class also received a grant from the National Gardening Association of 250 bulbs. The students planted these along the walkway between Richardson Elementary and Richardson Middle School. Things are just blooming this spring at Richardson Elementary!
