Wednesday for our 3rd snow day, RES posted some snow day learning challenges. Any student that correctly completed at least one of the 4 challenges had their name entered into a drawing. Since it was our 3rd snow day, we drew 3 names.

Congratulations to our 3 winning students:
Aria
Christian
Mariana

We had numerous students complete at least 1 challenge and it appeared that many students were enjoying the learning challenges. We are so proud of our students for learning even on a snow day. If we have another snow day students can look for the challenges in their school email and also posted here.

Have a great evening!

Once again a Virtual Learning Friday is here!

Chester used today to get all groomed and cleaned up. Thank you to Sunrise Side Grooming Salon for making him look spiffy once again!!! They are one of our top sponsors and we are extremely appreciative of them!

Here are the RES announcements for this week:

*Great job to all of the students who participated in at least one of the snow day learning challenge activities on Tuesday. It is great to see our students learning even on a snowy day off. Be looking for the next snow day challenge, if we have another snow day in our future.

*Our Friday homeroom competition is still going on. The top 3 homerooms in the building that have the highest percentage of students completing their Friday work for the month of February will get a special homeroom treat.

Here are the top 3 homerooms as of right now:
1st: Ms. Erickson
2nd: Ms. Goodman
3rd: Mrs. Albert

There is still today and next Friday included in this challenge. The percentages are so close throughout the building that every homeroom still has a chance of winning. Friday participation is required so why not complete it on time and try to get a reward for your class.

*February 16th was supposed to be our in person picture retake day. Due to the snow day this has been rescheduled for March 2nd.

We hope everyone has a great weekend!

Stay safe and Go Owls!

Good Morning Teachers,

Happy Snow Day. Below are the snow day challenges for today, feel free to share them out to your students.

Have a great day!

Happy Snowy Tuesday!!!

Today is our 2nd snow day of the school year. There is no virtual learning today. Get outside and enjoy some of the snow, but dress warm. Even though today is a snow day we know that our students love to learn even on a snowy day off.

Here are the RES snow day challenges for Tuesday, February 16th:

Owls Random Acts of Kindness:
February 17th is National Random Acts of Kindness Day. This is tomorrow. Use today to make something special to share with someone to help make them smile. We are the Owls so try to find a way to incorporate an Owl into your design. Make a special card for your teacher or bus driver and have an Owl on it. Make a picture or write a friendly letter to a friend. Be creative and have fun with it! Then on Wednesday make sure you give your creation to someone to help brighten their day. Make sure you take a picture of your item and send it to Mrs. Brooks so that she can see it. You can send it to her at: brooksr@oscodaschools.org

Listen to a Great Story:
Grab a warm blanket and go to storylineonline.net to select at least one story to listen to. This story should be appropriate to the student's grade level. Then after listening to the story, complete this form letting Mrs. Brooks know all about the story. The information in the form should be completed correctly. Here is the form:
https://forms.gle/7xd6D2n3Xwa6niYR8.

Snowman Math:
Let's have some fun with Math today. We are going to do some Snowman Math problems. Feel free to head outside and build the snowman to answer the questions or use your Math skills to complete the questions on paper. Then put your answers in this form: https://forms.gle/Xvo3AJT22125ScSQ7

Complete one, two, or all three challenges and have your name entered in to a drawing for a chance to win a prize. Students must use their school email account to complete the forms. For reading, the student must use good details and put their thoughts into sentence format. For Math, the students need to have accurate answers. If the student correctly does one challenge then their name is entered into the challenge once, but if they do all 3 then they have 3 chances of winning. 2 lucky students will be named the winners tomorrow. Students must submit their entries by 4pm today, February 16th to be entered into the drawing.

We hope everyone has a safe, warm, and healthy day!

Go Owls!
